Pick up where you left off

Before you start

• A project with at least one conversation. Everything lives in SwiftCNS, not in your agent's chat history, so any AI tool you connect can continue.

Steps

1. Continue an experiment

   In SwiftCNS, where are we on [project]? What's waiting for me?

   Your AI tool reads the project and tells you the current step and anything waiting for you.

2. Start the next idea from the last decision

   Before we test [new idea], check SwiftCNS for past decisions and Learnings on this. Start a new conversation that builds on them.

   Earlier Learnings become context for the new conversation. They aren't proof that the new idea will work.

3. Replace a decision when the facts change

   We have new evidence on [question]. Prepare a SwiftCNS decision review that replaces the last one, without a recommendation. I'll choose.

   Both decisions stay on record, linked, so anyone can see what changed and why.

What you get

A history your team and your AI tools can follow. In the running example, the next conversation (a lower price for two-person teams) starts from the Move forward decision and the Learning behind it.

Done when

• Your AI tool can tell you the current step of any project without you re-explaining it.
• Each new decision links back to the one it replaces.

Common mistakes

• Starting from zero. Ask for past decisions first; it's one line.
• Editing history. Don't rewrite an old decision. Replace it with a new one.

For agents: MCP tools and gotchas

• Find work: list_projects, list_conversations, list_decisions, list_learnings, search_project_sources.
• Resume an experiment: open_experiment_conversation. Current position: get_conversation_progress.
• New conversation: generate_resource_id (CONVERSATION), create_conversation (optional parentConversationId, which links but doesn't copy), then attach_sources_to_conversation for the artifacts the user chose.
• Supersede: prepare_decision_review with supersedesDecisionId.
• Prompts: continue_experiment, import_experiment_evidence.
